Ebooks & questions
The short answers. Anything else, just ask.
What makes these books different?
Every story starts with a feeling, not a lesson. A child watches someone just like them get cross, get it wrong, find a way through, and land on words they can say out loud: “I can do this.” The lesson is never announced — it's in there quietly, the way a good hug is.
How do ebook downloads work?
Pay at the secure checkout and you're brought straight to a page with your download buttons. The same links are emailed to you and work for 30 days. The files are yours to keep.
Which ebook format do I need?
You get both. EPUB suits Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play Books and most e-readers. The PDF opens on anything — phones, tablets, computers — and can be sent to a Kindle with Send to Kindle.
Is there any copy protection?
No DRM. Please keep the files for your own family or classroom — that's what keeps the next book coming.
Where are the paperbacks printed?
Close to you. Each book is printed to order by a print partner near your address, then posted.
Can I pay in my own currency?
Prices are listed in Australian dollars. At the secure checkout you can usually see and pay in your own currency.
Why buy here instead of a big online store?
Buying direct means the money goes to the person who made the book, and it pays for the next one. You also get the ebook in two formats, with no account needed.
Some words are very Australian — will my child follow?
Every book page has a short Aussie-words guide. Thongs are flip-flops, an ice block is a popsicle, and a bin truck is a garbage truck.
Can I get a refund?
Yes — see the refunds page. Printed books that arrive damaged or misprinted are replaced or refunded.
Who is Lou Vella?
An Australian Mum who reads a lot and writes the books families keep. Lou writes under her own name and doesn't appear publicly — no photographs, no video. The books and the characters do the talking.
